Please bear in mind that aspects of famous artist’s lives, such as Picasso, Van Gogh, O’Keeffe, Monet and others may have been simplified, amended or exaggerated. The thinking behind this is, when kids discover famous artists via our art tutorials, they are accessible to children and students alike in all types of school. These art tutorials cover the major aspects of the artist’s lives, their most famous paintings, their challenges, motivations and achievements. The videos stress that these artists overcame adversity and achieved greatness, by not giving up and working hard.
At Artist in School we know, and value, the importance of art education in schools. We make every effort to create accurate interpretations of each artist’s life and accept no responsibility for the consequences of any factual inaccuracies.
Teachers: I have taught art in schools for over 30 years. When I create art tutorials about famous artist’s I understand that there are some aspects of their lives and the paintings and drawings they have created, that might not be suitable for a younger audience. However, I create my art tutorials based on my own experience and what is suitable to show kids in England. I understand that in some parts of the world and some states of the USA, in particular, restrictions on the type of imagery shown is more restrictive.
I suggest teachers view my videos before allowing children to discover famous artists via my art tutorials, to ensure they fit the ethos of their own school.
